Project 1 "Murder"

Step 1: Get Knife

Step 3: Murder

Hi everyone

i updated my web site yesterday so check it out

Ben would like to say:

You have to come up with a really ridiculous reason for the race to be on. A trivial matter would be good--sort of like what Jake was saying about TV and film being predictable. You're fully capable of making a small thing evolve into an all out car battle.

You should watch some old greaser movies about car races on Dead Man's Curve and crap like that. And Speed Racer. I don't know why he ever raced, but that was all he did. You could even splice in images of you racing against him (cut to you looking to your right, cut to Speed!)

On that note, you could even just insert yourself into a movie that has a car chase. Or take Kee-ah-noo Reeves out of a movie and put him in yours. Or race Carrot Top for a bagel. I'd watch that.

Abby from and internet cafe in Mexico on Thanksgiving day-

Uh, where is the love?  There is always a love interest.  Or a crime.  Or a dis against someones mother. I agree that if you are goinhg to race matchbox cars you need to play up the cheezyness of it.  Maybe rip off your entire soundtrack from some fifties drag racing movie.  Sort of Mystery Science Theater 3000 in reverse.  They provide the sound, you provide the picture.

Also, I really like explosions.  It is something I have realized about myself.  Thus it should come as no surprise when I say include more explosions.  Big ones.

Artist statement stuff

I hate artist statements, and I hate reading them.

Here’s why

They are way too long, too wordy, and tell me way too much.

A full page of text using Times New Roman in a 12 or 14 size font is fine and completely readable when you have the piece of paper in your hand.  When the paper is placed vertically on the wall these type choices become completely unreadable.
